Experienced in partnering with senior leadership and FP&A teams to deliver accurate financial insight, robust governance, and strategic decision support.

Key Experience

Financial Reporting & Compliance

· Led the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with UK GAAP

· Managed statutory reporting processes and acted as the primary liaison for external auditors

· Ensured full compliance with HMRC requirements, including VAT, PAYE, and corporation tax

· Maintained high standards of financial accuracy, transparency, and reporting integrity

 

Accounting Operations

· Oversaw end-to-end accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll accounting, and general ledger

· Managed month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery

· Developed and implemented accounting policies, procedures, and controls aligned to best practice

· Led and developed accounting teams, driving performance and capability improvement

 

Financial Controls & Governance

· Established and maintained robust internal control frameworks to safeguard assets and ensure compliance

· Coordinated internal audits, identifying and addressing control gaps and process weaknesses

· Supported the implementation and optimisation of financial systems and reporting tools

· Ensured adherence to governance standards across all financial activities

 

Planning & Business Support

· Partnered closely with FP&A and operational teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning

· Provided insightful financial analysis and recommendations to support senior decision-making

· Supported business cases, cost optimisation initiatives, and capital expenditure planning

· Enabled improved financial visibility and performance tracking across the organisation

 

Qualifications

· Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)

· 7–10+ years’ experience in accounting and finance, including leadership roles

 

Technical Skills

· Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and statutory reporting

· Experience managing external audits and compliance processes

· Familiarity with ERP systems such as Agresso, Sage, or similar platforms

· Advanced financial analysis and reporting capabilities
