- Ensure compliance with Polish statutory accounting and tax regulations, while maintaining working knowledge of local requirements in other European jurisdictions.
- Prepare, review, and coordinate VAT and Corporate Income Tax (CIT) filings, ensuring timely and accurate submission.
- Liaise with external accounting firms, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies across multiple countries to manage compliance obligations and statutory deadlines.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and assess their impact on the business.
- Lead month-end closing activities for assigned entities, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare and review intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records in line with local statutory requirements and group reporting standards (IFRS and/or US GAAP).
- Support the preparation of financial statements and management reporting.
- Act as the primary point of contact for statutory and group audits.
- Prepare audit documentation, schedules, and supporting analyses, ensuring a smooth audit process.
- Identify control weaknesses and drive enhancements to financial processes and internal controls.
- Support compliance with corporate governance and financial control frameworks.
- Collaborate closely with Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and other finance stakeholders on cross-border initiatives and transactions.
- Support transfer pricing documentation, cash repatriation activities, and other international finance matters.
- Drive standardization, automation, and continuous improvement of accounting processes across entities.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and issue resolution.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of accounting experience, ideally within a multinational, multi-entity, or shared services environment.
- Strong knowledge of Polish accounting standards, VAT, and CIT regulations.
- Familiarity with accounting and compliance requirements in at least one additional European jurisdiction (e.g., Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, or France).
- Proven hands-on experience with month-end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and intercompany accounting.
- Experience managing relationships with external accounting firms, auditors, and tax advisors.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, or similar.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
