Cyber Security Policy Engineer
Join a global Cyber Security Technology team responsible for protecting critical systems, sensitive data, and billions of transactions across one of the world's leading international financial institutions.
As a Cyber Security Policy Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimizing data security policies and controls. You will work closely with business stakeholders, security teams, and technology specialists to ensure robust protection of data both in transit and at rest while supporting continuous improvement of security services and tooling.
Location & Working Model
- Hybrid working model
- Office attendance required 6 days per month in Cracow
- Collaboration with international teams across multiple regions and business functions
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain Data Security and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies
- Configure, manage, and optimize DLP solutions and data discovery tools
- Analyze business requirements and identify gaps in data protection controls
- Develop new security policies and continuously improve existing controls in line with risk appetite and regulatory requirements
- Support onboarding of business units into new data protection policies and security controls
- Participate in cybersecurity projects and deliver policy engineering solutions within the Data Security domain
- Provide production support for Data Security tooling, including policy management and troubleshooting
- Support innovation initiatives and improvements in Data Security Engineering capabilities
- Assist with the transition of new security tools and solutions into BAU (Business as Usual) operations
- Drive improvements in service quality and user experience of data security products
- Prepare management information (MI), key metrics, and reporting for senior stakeholders
- Collaborate with auditors, risk teams, and business stakeholders to ensure compliance and effective governance
- Mentor and support less experienced team members
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in Data Security Engineering or Cyber Security Engineering
- Hands-on experience with Data Loss Prevention solutions such as:
- Symantec DLP
- Trellix DLP
- Proofpoint DLP
- Zscaler DLP
- Experience deploying and managing data discovery and data scanning tools
- Strong knowledge of Data Security Policy creation, analysis, tuning, and maintenance
- Experience securing Data in Motion and/or Data at Rest
- Practical understanding of cybersecurity risks, threats, and controls, particularly within Financial Services environments
- Experience working in Agile environments and participating in project delivery activities
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical security solutions and delivery plans
- Experience using Jira and Confluence for project tracking and operational support

- Industry certifications such as:
- CISSP
- CISM
- CISA
- Experience within highly regulated environments such as banking or financial services
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise security platforms
