Grid Converter Control Engineer 

We are looking for an experienced Grid Converter Control Engineer to support the development, modeling, and validation of advanced converter control solutions for renewable energy and power electronics applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize grid-forming and grid-following converter control algorithms.
  • Build and validate converter and grid models in MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Perform stability analysis, transient simulations, and converter-grid interaction studies.
  • Execute real-time validation and HIL testing under various grid disturbance scenarios.
  • Analyze weak-grid challenges and develop solutions to improve stability and robustness.
  • Support system integration, commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical documentation

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in converter control, power electronics, or grid integration engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of grid-forming (GFM) and grid-following (GFL) control strategies.
  • Experience with grid-connected converters, renewable energy integration, and power system dynamics.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink model development, simulation, and control algorithm validation.
  • Experience with real-time testing and HIL/CHIL platforms such as dSPACE, RTDS, Typhoon HIL, or OPAL-RT.
  • Understanding of dq0-based current control, voltage-forming control, PLL systems, harmonic behavior, and weak-grid dynamics.
  • Knowledge of grid-code requirements and converter-grid interaction analysis is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving mindset, and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Fluent English communication skills are required.
