Finance Manager - Family Office

Finance Manager

Family Office | Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer | Remote

About the Opportunity

Our Client is a privately held Family Office managing a diversified portfolio of investments across the UK, Continental Europe and the United States. The portfolio includes real estate, operating businesses and other long-term private investments.

As the organisation continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to work closely with the CFO and take ownership of the day-to-day finance operations of the Family Office.

This is a newly created position, offering a unique opportunity to help shape the finance function from the ground up. The successful candidate will play a key role in building efficient processes, improving financial operations, and establishing best practices while working closely with the CFO in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.

During the first 12–18 months, the role will primarily focus on establishing and strengthening the Family Office finance function. The expected allocation of responsibilities will be approximately 60–70% bookkeeping oversight and finance administration and 30–40% controlling, management reporting, and process improvement.

As the finance function matures, these proportions are expected to gradually reverse. Over time, the role will evolve to focus predominantly on controlling, management reporting, financial analysis, and process improvement (approximately 60–70%), with 30–40% dedicated to bookkeeping oversight and finance administration

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the month-end close process across multiple entities and jurisdictions
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation
  • Overseeing bookkeeping activities and finance administration
  • Preparing financial reports, management information and financial analyses
  • Performing reconciliations and validating financial data from multiple sources
  • Supporting internal controls and continuously improving finance processes
  • Building efficient financial workflows, templates and Excel models
  • Coordinating with external accountants, auditors and professional advisers
  • Managing corporate, legal and investment documentation
  • Supporting the administration of holding companies, SPVs and other group entities
  • Working closely with the CFO on a wide range of finance and strategic projects

Candidate Profile:

  • Approximately 5–7 years of experience in Audit, Financial Controlling, Corporate Finance, Fund Finance, Private Assets or a Family Office environment
  • Previous experience within a Big Four firm is highly desirable, particularly candidates who have moved from audit into industry
  • Strong accounting and financial reporting knowledge
  • Experience working with multi-entity corporate structures
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical and organisational abilities
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating closely with senior leadership
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Professional accounting qualifications (ACA, ACCA or CPA) are considered an advantage.

What Our Client Offers:

  • B2B contract
  • Annual performance bonus
  • Company laptop
  • Fully remote working, with occasional business travel
  • The opportunity to work closely with an experienced CFO in an international Family Office
  • Broad exposure to private investments, multi-entity structures and international finance operations
  • A high level of autonomy and real influence on building finance processes
