Transition Manager – Finance / Shared Services

Key Responsibilities

Transition Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end transitions of Finance processes (P2P, O2C, R2R and FP&A) into a Bucharest Shared Services or GBS Centre. HR scope may also be included.
  • Develop and manage transition plans covering due diligence, process discovery, solution validation, knowledge transfer, parallel run, go-live and hypercare.
  • Coordinate knowledge transfer between the retained organization and the Bucharest teams, ensuring Finance processes, controls and month-end activities are properly documented and understood.
  • Manage risks, issues, dependencies and decisions (RAID), escalating them in a timely manner and keeping the transition on track and within budget.
  • Stabilize operations after go-live, ensuring service levels, KPIs and financial controls are achieved before handover to Business as Usual (BAU).

Bucharest Setup & Stakeholder Management

  • Work with local leadership and HR in Bucharest on team setup, recruitment, onboarding and ramp-up.
  • Use knowledge of the local talent market, labour landscape and working practices to develop realistic transition and implementation plans.
  • Build strong relationships with CFO organization stakeholders, process owners and receiving teams.
  • Report progress to the Transition Management Office (TMO) and steering committees, providing clear status updates, risks and recommendations.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to standardize, simplify and automate Finance processes during and after the transition.
  • Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement of transition processes and ways of working.

Requirements

Essential

  • At least 8 years of experience in transition management, shared services or GBS delivery.
  • Proven experience managing multiple transitions into Bucharest, with a strong understanding of the local market and delivery environment.
  • Strong Finance process knowledge across P2P, O2C, R2R and FP&A, including controls and month-end close.
  • End-to-end transition experience covering due diligence, planning, knowledge transfer, parallel run, go-live and hypercare.
  • Strong project and transition management skills, including RAID management and TMO reporting.
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders, including CFO-level organizations, and managing teams across different countries.
  • Availability to start immediately and spend regular time on-site in Bucharest.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Desirable

  • HR transition experience, including Hire-to-Retire and payroll.
  • Consulting or advisory transition delivery experience.
  • Experience with ERP and Finance systems such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Experience with HR systems such as Workday or SuccessFactors.
  • Romanian language skills.
  • Project management or transition certification such as PRINCE2 or PMP.
