Our client is a global organisation developing its Shared Services Centre in Poland. You’ll join an international Finance team supporting customers and business partners in the German-speaking market.

The role combines customer service with financial processes, particularly in the areas of Accounts Receivable, Collections and Order-to-Cash. You’ll work closely with customers as well as internal Finance, Accounting and Sales teams to resolve queries, clarify outstanding payments and ensure a smooth customer experience.

Customer Service Specialist with German – Finance

We’re looking for a Customer Service Specialist with fluent German and good English to join an international Finance team.

In this role, you’ll be the first point of contact for customers regarding finance-related queries. You’ll support customers with questions about invoices, payments, outstanding balances and account information, while working closely with the Accounts Receivable and Collections teams.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with customers but would also like to develop their knowledge of Finance, Accounts Receivable, Collections and Order-to-Cash processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional customer service to German-speaking customers via email and phone.
  • Handle customer enquiries related to invoices, payments, account balances and outstanding receivables.
  • Respond to customer questions regarding payment status, due dates and financial documentation.
  • Support the resolution of invoice and payment-related issues.
  • Follow up with customers regarding outstanding payments when required.
  • Cooperate with the Accounts Receivable and Collections teams to resolve customer queries and support timely payments.
  • Investigate discrepancies between customer accounts, invoices and payments.
  • Escalate more complex financial or customer issues to the appropriate internal teams.
  • Maintain accurate customer and case information in relevant systems.
  • Record customer interactions and follow up on open cases.
  • Work closely with Sales, Finance, Accounting and other internal stakeholders.
  • Support the team in maintaining high-quality customer service and efficient financial processes.
  • Follow established procedures, policies and service standards.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and projects within the SSC.
  • Support other activities related to Customer Service and Finance as required.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Customer Service, Accounts Receivable, Collections, Order-to-Cash or another Finance-related area.
  • Experience in an international environment, preferably within an SSC/BPO organisation, would be an advantage.
  • Fluent German – at least C1 level.
  • Good command of English – at least B2 level.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers, including when handling difficult or escalated situations.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy when working with financial information.
  • Ability to analyse problems, identify discrepancies and find appropriate solutions.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of an international team.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with ERP or CRM systems would be an advantage.
