Governance & Compliance Lead/ Manager with German
Remote with occasional travel to Frankfurt and London
The Role
Antal is seeking consultants who can operate within robust governance and compliance frameworks across transformation and transition programmes.
This requires a combination of functional expertise (e.g. Finance, IT, HR) alongside strong project and transition delivery experience, covering feasibility, design, and implementation phases.
You will be responsible for ensuring all activities are delivered in a controlled, auditable, and compliant manner, aligned to organisational standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Governance & Project Oversight
· Operate within established project and programme governance frameworks
· Support governance structures including steering committees, project boards, and workstream forums
· Maintain clear documentation, decision logs, and audit trails
Transition Governance
· Ensure governance across all transition lifecycle phases including feasibility, design, implementation, and stabilisation
· Manage dependencies, risks, and interlocks across multiple workstreams
· Ensure adherence to defined methodologies and delivery standards
Risk & Issue Management
· Identify and manage risks and issues across projects and transitions
· Maintain structured logs with clear ownership and mitigation actions
· Escalate critical risks appropriately and drive resolution
Compliance Responsibilities:
Process & Controls
· Ensure alignment with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements
· Validate compliance across Finance, HR, IT, and Procurement processes
· Support implementation of standardised and controlled operating models
Regulatory & Audit
· Ensure all activities are audit-ready and compliant with relevant regulations
· Maintain appropriate documentation to support internal and external audits
Data Governance
· Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (e.g. GDPR)
· Support governance around data migration, access controls, and system integrity
Reporting & Performance
· Provide structured status reporting on progress, risks, and deliverables
· Track KPIs aligned to transformation objectives
· Ensure transparency and accuracy in all reporting outputs
Key Requirements
· Proven experience operating within governance and compliance frameworks
· Strong understanding of functional controls (Finance, IT, HR, Procurement)
· Experience delivering end-to-end transformation and transition programmes
· Ability to balance delivery pace with governance and control requirements
· Strong stakeholder engagement at senior and executive levels
