Job Overview
The Financial Controller is responsible for delivering accurate and timely management reporting, coordinating month-end close activities, and supporting strategic financial decision-making. The person in this role will work closely with accounting, operations and sales teams to ensure reliable financial information, contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes, and develop analytical tools to support business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Prepare management reports, including profit and loss statements, key performance indicators (KPI) and ad hoc analyses.
- Coordinate the month-end closing process to ensure completeness and accuracy of management information.
- Develop, maintain and control budgets and forecasts; monitor variances and provide explanations.
- Analyze sales, margins and cost structures to identify trends and support performance improvement.
- Monitor progress against business targets and report on deviations and corrective actions.
- Prepare financial forecasts and business scenario analyses to support planning and strategic initiatives.
- Support investment decisions through return on investment (ROI) and net present value (NPV) analyses.
- Review management-level accounting entries for accuracy and consistency with reporting standards.
- Collaborate with accounting, operations and sales teams to ensure alignment of financial information and business processes.
- Prepare documentation and data required for audits and liaise with external auditors as needed.
- Develop and enhance reporting tools and dashboards using Excel, Power BI and other BI systems.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and support of efficiency measures.
Qualifications
- Degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience in a controlling, financial analysis or management reporting role.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling techniques.
- Practical experience with month-end close processes and management accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with Power BI and other BI systems is highly desirable.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and ability to present complex information clearly.
- Effective communication skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Fluency in the local language and professional working proficiency in English are advantageous.
