About the role
For our client - a large international bank - we are looking for an experienced leader to build and develop the Product Testing & Assurance capability within the Controls Office operating in the 1st Line of Defence.
In this role you will be responsible for shaping and leading the control testing framework for product-related non-financial risks, ensuring that key controls across business areas are effectively designed and operating as intended.
Your responsibilities

Leading and developing the Product Testing & Assurance team responsible for control testing in the product risk area

Designing and implementing a robust testing and assurance framework for non-financial risks related to products and business processes

Overseeing control testing activities, including testing methodologies, test plans and quality of testing execution

Reviewing testing results and ensuring clear communication of key findings, themes and risk exposures to senior management

Driving continuous improvement of the control environment by identifying systemic control weaknesses and improvement opportunities

Building strong relationships with business leaders, control owners and risk functions across the organisation

Supporting governance processes, including reporting and escalation of key risk issues to senior management and risk committees

Identifying opportunities to increase efficiency of testing processes, including automation and standardisation
Requirements

Extensive experience in non-financial risk management, control testing, assurance, internal controls or audit, preferably within financial services

Proven experience in leading teams or building control / assurance capabilities

Strong understanding of risk and control frameworks and control testing methodologies

Experience working with product governance, business processes or operational risk environments in large organisations

Ability to translate complex risk and control topics into clear insights for senior stakeholders

Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including collaboration with senior leadership

Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken)

University degree or equivalent professional experience
