We are seeking a proactive sourcing professional who will take ownership of global procurement activities within a defined commodity area. This role involves shaping long-term purchasing direction, working closely with international stakeholders, and ensuring cost-effective and reliable supply solutions across multiple locations.
The ideal candidate combines technical understanding with strong commercial awareness and is comfortable operating in a global, cross-functional environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Define and drive a long-term sourcing approach for assigned commodity groups in cooperation with key stakeholders
- Roll out procurement initiatives across international sites, ensuring alignment with local business needs
- Lead commercial negotiations, including pricing structures and contractual agreements, on a global scale
- Assess supplier capabilities, monitor performance trends, and initiate improvement measures where required
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with suppliers to ensure sustainable collaboration
- Manage supplier selection activities, including RFQs, comparison of offers, and value assessment
- Deliver data-driven insights by preparing purchasing analyses and supporting reports
- Contribute to cost optimization and process enhancement initiatives
Candidate Profile
- Background in engineering or a related technical discipline
- Several years of experience in sourcing or procurement within an industrial or manufacturing setting
- Practical knowledge gained through academic studies or vocational education combined with additional qualifications
- Ability to engage in detailed technical discussions with engineering teams and external partners
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and driving initiatives across different organizational levels
- Strong planning and analytical capabilities with attention to detail
- Solution-focused mindset with confidence in decision-making and influencing others
- Well-developed negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Fluent communication in English; additional European language skills (e.g. German) are an advantage
