We are looking for a Production Engineering Specialist to join an international project delivered for a large organization within the financial services sector. The team operates within the Payments IT department and is responsible for maintaining and supporting critical systems related to payment execution, messaging, orchestration, and financial compliance. This role focuses on ensuring high availability and stability of mission-critical systems in a dynamic, real-time environment. You will work across a wide range of technologies, from vendor solutions to in-house developed microservices, following Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide end-to-end production support, including incident resolution and post-incident analysis
- Investigate and identify root causes of system issues and implement preventive solutions
- Deploy and maintain software releases and locally developed tools (e.g. Bash, Python, Java scripts)
- Support testing activities related to new implementations and system changes
- Collaborate with global stakeholders across multiple locations and teams
- Monitor system performance and optimize processes using modern technologies
- Design and implement improvements in system reliability, performance, and operational processes
- Analyze data to detect anomalies and support troubleshooting activities
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within Agile / DevOps environment
- Participate in on-call rotations and support critical production environments
Requirements:
- Experience in SQL / Oracle (PL/SQL) and database operations
- Strong knowledge of Linux environments
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes
- Experience with scripting/automation (at least one: Bash, Python, or Java)
- Understanding of system monitoring and performance tuning (e.g. AppDynamics, Splunk)
- Solid knowledge of application architecture layers (OS, network, database, application)
- Experience working in Agile / DevOps environments, including CI/CD pipelines
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize effectively in critical situations
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate in international teams
- English proficiency at B2+ level
Nice to Have:
- Experience in the payments or financial services domain
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g. Puppet, Ansible)
- Experience with additional programming languages (e.g. Java, Python)
- Knowledge of automation and infrastructure-as-code practices
