Senior Accountant with Czech (local Finance) - medical device

As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for contributing to day-to-day and month-end accounting, tax and compliance activities, with a particular focus on supporting all aspects of VAT, WHT, corporate and statutory reporting, external and internal audits. You will regularly interact with staff, corporate functions, auditors, tax authorities and work with the Shared Service Center.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for VAT reporting and driving necessary VAT changes to ensure company's tax compliance
  • Supporting monthly close process, managing accrual preparation, account reconciliations and variance analysis while ensuring accuracy and compliance with US and Czech GAAP
  • Monitoring fixed assets register and depreciation
  • Reporting to banks and government authorities
  • Responsible for WHT matters and reporting
  • Acting as local source to pay coordinator
  • Assisting with implementation of procedures resulting from new corporate and local accounting policies
  • Supporting statutory and corporate audits
  • Assisting with technical accounting research and preparation of policy memorandums
  • Driving process improvements
  • Assisting with functional projects and taking additional accounting responsibilities as they arise
  • Liaising with SSC and collaborating on process improvements
  • Working on system implementation


Who we are looking for

  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • University degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • Knowledge of local tax legislation and statutory reporting requirements
  • Fluent in Czech,  English B2, nice to have Polish
  • Experience working with shared service centers
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Detail-oriented, adaptable to changing priorities and good at organizing work
  • Ability to interact in a highly professional and collaborative manner with all levels of staff, both internal and external to the organization
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Experience working with SAP system (S4 Hana nice to have)
