Accounting Specialist

For our Client, a leading company in the banking sector, we are looking for a Accounting Specialist to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to join an international organization and develop your expertise in accounting, financial reporting and regulatory reporting.

Location: Frankfurt am Main, Germany

In this role, you will be responsible for accounting and reporting processes of the Branch, working closely with the Head Office, German supervisory and tax authorities, as well as other key stakeholders.

Your responsibilities

  • preparing the Branch's financial statements in accordance with German GAAP,
  • preparing regulatory reporting for supervisory authorities,
  • participating in the booking process related to own operations and reconciliation of accounting books,
  • monitoring and verifying accounting documentation related to own operations,
  • handling the Branch's tax liabilities, including maintaining and updating local tax documentation,
  • identifying MDR signals in accordance with the applicable list prepared by the Bank,
  • cooperating with the Head Office, German supervisory and tax authorities, and banking associations,
  • monitoring changes in accounting, reporting and tax regulations, as well as social security requirements,
  • cooperating with the Head Office in Poland on drafting and updating internal regulations, particularly the Branch's accounting principles,
  • supporting the optimization of accounting processes and participating in the implementation of improvements,
  • participating in the annual inventory process.

Requirements

  • minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting or regulatory reporting,
  • strong knowledge of German GAAP and accounting and financial reporting regulations applicable to the banking sector,
  • fluent German,
  • English at a minimum B2 level,
  • knowledge of Polish will be considered an advantage,
  • university degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking or a related field,
  • strong analytical skills and attention to detail,
  • good knowledge of MS Excel – at least intermediate level,
  • knowledge of SQL will be considered an advantage.
