About the role

We are looking for an experienced IT Service Owner (Cybersecurity) to take ownership of the end-to-end delivery, stability, support and continuous improvement of IT services.

In this role, you will ensure that assigned services are delivered effectively, remain secure and resilient, and meet operational, governance and compliance requirements. You will work closely with technical and business stakeholders, coordinate service-related activities and act as a key point of contact for service issues, risks, changes and improvement initiatives.

The role combines IT Service Management, governance, risk and controls, infrastructure operations and stakeholder management, making it a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working across different areas of IT.

Key responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the end-to-end operation, support and continuous improvement of assigned IT services.

  • Ensure services are stable, resilient, secure and delivered in line with agreed standards and requirements.

  • Manage service-related risks, issues, controls and compliance activities.

  • Ensure IT governance and control requirements are met and maintained.

  • Proactively plan service improvements, including technology upgrades, capacity planning, vulnerability management and future business needs.

  • Coordinate IT control activities, ensuring they are completed within agreed timelines and with the appropriate resources.

  • Act as a key contact and escalation point for service-related requests, issues and activities.

  • Maintain audit and control readiness by providing evidence, addressing findings and supporting continuous improvements.

  • Coordinate with technical teams and other stakeholders to resolve issues and deliver service improvements.

  • Maintain accurate service and application information in relevant inventory and management tools.

  • Monitor changes to IT governance, control requirements and processes and communicate relevant updates.

  • Support service resilience and stability activities, including backup and restore, disaster recovery testing and major incident coordination.

  • Support project delivery and ensure operational requirements are considered throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Govern change and release readiness, ensuring operational acceptance criteria are met before go-live.

  • Monitor service performance and relevant KPIs, identifying opportunities to improve service quality and reduce recurring issues.

  • Support continual improvement initiatives across IT services and processes.

  • Perform other responsibilities related to IT service management as required.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in IT Service Management, IT Infrastructure/Software Support or IT Project Management.

  • Very good knowledge of ITIL principles and practices, particularly Service Level Management, Service Continuity, Information Security Management and Change Management.

  • Good understanding of IT infrastructure, architecture and operational environments.

  • Experience in risk and issue management.

  • Strong understanding of IT governance, processes, controls and compliance requirements.

  • Proven experience working with IT controls, including areas such as access management, change management, vulnerability/patch management, logging, backup and disaster recovery.

  • Experience with KPI reporting and initiatives aimed at reducing control breaches and recurring findings.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and technical teams.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to lead discussions and present to senior stakeholders.

  • Experience in identifying and delivering value-adding initiatives and process improvements.

  • Good knowledge of IT technologies and their operational environments.

  • Practical understanding of Windows, Linux and/or databases such as Oracle.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and take ownership with minimal supervision.

  • Proactive, solution-oriented and hands-on approach.

  • Strong team player with an openness to sharing knowledge and learning from others.

  • Adaptability and willingness to work in a changing environment.

  • Fluent English is required.
