Control Testing & Assurance Senior Specialist

About the role

The Product Testing and Assurance team is part of the Controls Office within Business Controls and Product Management and operates in the 1st Line of Defence.

The team works closely with business units and control owners to ensure that key controls related to products and business processes are properly designed and operating effectively. The role focuses on supporting the organisation in managing non-financial risks through structured control testing and assurance activities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Performing control testing to assess the effectiveness of controls related to non-financial risks
  • Preparing test plans, test scripts and testing documentation
  • Analysing testing results and identifying control weaknesses and improvement opportunities
  • Working closely with business teams and control owners to strengthen the control environment
  • Preparing clear summaries and reports of testing outcomes for management
  • Supporting escalation of key findings to relevant governance forums when needed
  • Identifying opportunities to improve testing processes and introduce automation

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in non-financial risk, controls testing, assurance, internal controls, or audit
  • Good understanding of risk and control frameworks and control testing practices
  • Experience working with business processes or products in the financial services sector will be an advantage
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to identify risk drivers and control improvement opportunities
  • Very good English communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Ability to present complex findings in a clear and structured way
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills
  • University degree or equivalent professional experience
