Payroll Process Transformation Manager

For our client operating in a Shared Services environment, we are looking for an experienced Payroll Process Transformation Manager to support a large-scale payroll transformation and vendor change initiative.

This is a project-driven, transformation-focused role, ideal for a professional with strong payroll expertise combined with solid project management, process mapping, and change management experience.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end payroll process transformation initiatives across Shared Service Centers

  • Map current (โ€œas-isโ€) payroll processes and design future-state (โ€œto-beโ€) solutions

  • Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities, including automation

  • Support preparation and execution of payroll vendor change initiatives

  • Oversee payroll/HCM system configuration, data migration, uploads, and reconciliations

  • Gather, validate, and translate local payroll and Time & Attendance requirements into system solutions

  • Partner closely with local HR and Finance teams across multiple markets

  • Manage project plans, timelines, risks, and dependencies

  • Drive change management activities within payroll teams and stakeholder groups

  • Prepare and present regular status updates and transformation outcomes to senior management


Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in payroll operations, including at least 3 years in a Shared Services environment

  • 3โ€“4 years of hands-on experience in project management

  • Proven experience in payroll process transformation projects (vendor change experience is a strong asset)

  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and their interfaces with HR and Finance

  • Practical experience in process mapping and process gap analysis

  • Knowledge of payroll and HCM systems and payroll data management

  • Experience working in matrix organizations and with multiple stakeholders

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving mindset

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills


Nice to Have

  • Experience in international or multi-country payroll environments

  • Participation in payroll system implementations or automation initiatives

  • Experience working with external payroll vendors
