GEO & SEO Technical Lead
Location: Warsaw, Poland (on-site presence required; relocation/travel costs not covered)
Contract type: B2B contract
Client: A global FMCG company with a portfolio of leading household, health and hygiene brands
Start date: ASAP — we are happy to wait for the right person
About the Role
We are looking for a GEO & SEO Technical Lead to help our client build the technical foundation for how their brands are discovered — not just on Google, but inside AI-driven answer engines like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity.
This is a newly created role. No one has done this job on this market before you. You won't be asked to own the full business strategy — the client already has strong business stakeholders for that. What they need is a technical authority and trusted advisor: someone who can sit in the room with category directors, regional IT leads and technology vendors, and clearly separate what actually works from what only looks good on a slide.
You'll help define a global standard for GEO/AEO/SEO that regional teams — who are already running their own local initiatives — can adopt, rather than reinvent independently.
What You'll Do
- Define GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) and technical SEO strategy, aligned with business objectives across markets.
- Act as a technical business partner to Marketing, eCommerce, Product and Content teams.
- Lead the evaluation, selection and implementation of GEO/SEO platforms and vendors — assessing what's real versus what's marketing.
- Define and track KPIs including AI Visibility, Share of Prompt, Share of Model and Organic Visibility.
- Drive adoption of chosen technology platforms and monitor their performance against business KPIs.
- Set technical SEO standards and governance to be used as a global reference across regions.
- Represent the technical/technology point of view in meetings with senior stakeholders and external vendors.
What We're Looking For
Experience
- 5+ years in SEO and search optimization, including technical, enterprise, international and e-commerce SEO.
- Hands-on experience with GEO, AEO or AI Search — this is a must, not a nice-to-have.
- Track record leading enterprise-level or global initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills — comfortable presenting to senior management and challenging vendors.
Expertise
- Technical SEO, Enterprise SEO, International SEO, E-commerce SEO.
- Solid understanding of LLMs, GEO, AEO, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) and prompt engineering.
- Familiarity with AI Visibility measurement and Share of Prompt / Share of Model methodologies.
Profile
- Backgrounds in e-commerce or retail are strongly preferred.
- Candidates from data science / analytics backgrounds who have evolved into GEO/AI-search will also be considered, provided they demonstrate strong business understanding — not only technical depth.
- Executive presence, strategic thinking and strong communication skills. You need to be as credible in front of a category director as in front of a room full of vendors.
Practical Details
- This is a B2B contract role
- Recruitment process is short and efficient: one interview, approximately 1.5 hours.
- Remote work is possible, but candidates must be willing and able to travel to Warsaw when needed.
