RTR SME / Business Analyst

The role will focus on the Record-to-Report (RTR) domain, working closely with Finance stakeholders, technical and data engineers, and the broader transformation team to define process requirements, fiscal reporting structures, and data flows, required to operationalise transformative RTR solutions for clients

Key Responsibilities

· RTR Functional Requirements Definition Identify and document data requirements across key RTR processes (GL, close, fixed assets, intercompany, journals, reconciliations).

· Data Mapping & Source Identification Map source systems (e.g., ERP, sub-ledgers) to target RTR platform structures, including defining data lineage.

· Stakeholder Engagement Work closely with Finance leadership (Head of Finance, Controllers) to validate requirements and ensure alignment with reporting and control needs.

· Collaboration with Technical Teams Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications for technical engineers and architects and to work with them to exploit the digital platforms standard functionality to optimise the benefits to the Business client/ users. Support the testing and set up of digital outcomes to build user confidence and knowledge on the systems To design and implement workaround solutions as required and gain necessary approvals

· Documentation & Artefacts Produce high-quality deliverables including:

o Functional requirement documents

o Functional mapping templates

o Process/data flow diagrams

o Business rules documentation

o Test scenarios

 

Required Skills & Experience

· Strong experience as a RTR Functional SME/Business Analyst in Finance transformation projects

· Holding a valid Accountancy professional or academic qualification

· Deep knowledge and understanding on RTR Data Models and implications to Process designs and Digital tool enablement eg Chart of Accounts, Finance Hierarchies etc

· Experience working on RTR Digital Platform implementations (Redwood /Blackline/Trintech/Floqast etc)

· Deep understanding of:

o RTR Process leading practices and their application

o RTR Rule structures and regulatory standards

o RTR Data modelling, lineage and governance

· Familiarity with cloud / on-premise platforms and their impact on Functional requirements and future RTR Target Operating Models is desirable

 

Soft Skills

· Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

· Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment

· Structured thinking and strong documentation capability

· Proactive and solution-oriented mindset

 

Nice to Have

· Prior exposure to SSC / Finance transformation programmes – at least 7 years

· Experience working with Finance solution technical / data engineering teams
